About this work
Throughout the rehearsal process of The Meeting, we have experimented with non-naturalistic movements in order to help the actors find their emotional connection to the lines and the story, before actually learning the lines and putting it together to be performed on stage. It is to be performed in a naturalistic style, exploring the ideas of love, hate, hope and freedom, conveying these emotions and effecting the audience, during and after the performance. The Meeting, although originally written in 1987, and set in 1965, still has themes and lessons that are relevant to today’s age and political climate.
